Tertiary Prevention occurs once a disease has occurred and it keeps it under control or from progressing. So in the event that someone has tested postive for herpes they should engage in tertiary prevention methods.

-Taking medication when an outbreak occurs to make it less painful.
-Taking medication when an outbreak occurs to make it go away faster.
-Using presciption drugs in order to reduce your chances from an outbreak occuring.
-Try and not trigger outbreaks by avoiding common triggers of the outbreaks themselves.
